Currently I have the 3 phase motor to convert to a gortnaeer.. The motor I have is a 40 horse motor. I was originally looking for a 60 horse gas motor to spin it, however anouther tuber explained that I will only be loading 2 of the 3 phases so I should only need a 40 horse gas engine, and I will have 33% more power then I need. The issue at hand is, just like a regular gortnaeer, if you do not spin it at the correct speed, you will not get the 60 hz.

Excellent timing (and info), I was just gienttg to this part of my amp. Just yesterday I was performing additional measurements on rectifier noise in my high voltage supply. I noticed more or less the same distortion in the, in my case, 50Hz mains.I also tried to measure common mode noise on the transformers by connecting one lead of my Clio box to the transformer secondary and the other lead to ground. It seems to work. Two things I discovered so far:1 Use 'snuffer caps'Placing 22nF/1600 MKP capacitors across the high voltage diodes (HEXFREDs) reduces the noise on the powersupply by 18dB!!2 A separate transformer is not allways better.I use a Lundahl 1651 mains transformer in my amp, the common mode noise on the 12V secondary is 15dB below the noise on a standard 12V toroidal transformer. This is with the toroidal connected to nothing but the Clio box while the Lundahl was also delivering 500V at 100mA on the other secondary!!The details can be found on my website (click on name below post).

to answer puhsaswkker if you feed something made for 60 cycle with a frequency thats a bit off generaly speaking it will not damage it if its an old style clock it will then not be accurate for time induction motors will run at different speeds than they should and could overheat if the frequency is way off say to low and if way high the motor will try to run way faster than normal lights heaters etc will not be affected except fluorescents maybe hot plates toasters unafected
